My name is Robert St-Pierre, I live in the Ottawa area and record most of my images within this region.
My interest in photography started in the early 90's, armed with an old Pentax K1000 and a very inexpensive zoom lens of 28-70 I began my photographic journey. Soon after having my first few rolls of film processed I realized that there was a lot more to photography than just pressing a button. My first rolls were a total disaster
, I remember telling myself that I should get a fully automatic camera and all my problems would be solved. Lack of money and a thirst for knowledge forced me to keep the old manual and learn the basics. I then went to study and received a photography certification from Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario, attended the Nikon School of Photography and read many books/magazines to gain as much knowledge as I could.
With the evolution of the digital world one cannot stop learning and this is where I am now, getting my feet wet with digital imaging and web site design.
Recording moments of time on film can be a hobby, a passion, an art or a profession. Most importantly it should be fun!!
Whatever season you find yourself into, you should always find subjects to express your creative mind. The creative mind is a part we all have inside, all we have to do is go out and explore nature's magical offerings.
